We operate in the electricity and natural gas sectors.
- In the ELECTRICITY sector,
we produce electricity in our power stations, import from some of the bordering countries, take part in the IPEX - Italian Power Exchange, sell to eligible end-users throughout the country (with exclusion only to household-users, who are not yet admitted to the free electricity market by law) and offer integrated power saving equipment and services.
- In the NATURAL GAS sector,
we import gas, operate on the Virtual Exchange Point (PSV, the virtual point where gas is exchanged between operators) and sell to all Italian clients.
Sorgenia does not deal with Transportation, Distribution and Balancing, which are not free market activities and are regulated by the Electricity and Gas Authority (AEEG – Autorità per l'Energia Electtrica e il Gas) and by TERNA, the national grid operator.
